The world's deepest pool called Deep Dive Dubai just opened in the UAE, and it has an underwater surprise! Reaching nearly 200 feet below the water's surface, the pool's center is actually a city. But, this isn't any ordinary stop on the tour through town...
Lined with bookshelves full of novels and tree roots creeping down the large hole that transports divers seemingly from one world to the next, the bottom of the hole reveals a sunken city. Full of old home and library items, cars, motorcycles, arcade games, and more, Deep Dive Dubi is one of a kind.
The unique swimming experience opened its doors on July 7, 2021. To prepare for the big day, the 196-foot pool was created, filled with nearly every item one might find in a deserted city, then topped off with more than 3.5M gallons of fresh water, kept at 86 degrees Fareinheight. And one accomplishment came its way before it even opened!
On June 27, 2021, Deep Dive Dubai was awarded Guinness World Record status, becoming the "Deepest swimming pool for diving in the world." Also included in the pool's construction were state-of-the-art sound systems and lighting that add to the sunken city's aesthetic. And for visitors who might not have a waterproof camera to capture the experience? There's no need to worry.
Deep Dive Dubai installed 56 cameras throughout the pool to ensure the safety of divers and snapshots of the exciting adventures are secured. So, how can you get in the door? As of now, the diving center is operating by invitation only due to the ongoing pandemic. However, it has been noted by diving experts at Deep Dive Dubai that public bookings should begin by the end of July!
So, grab your wetsuits and get ready to explore, because the moment we can travel to Dubai, you can guess where we'll be! This amazing accomplishment in Guinness World Record history is the third larger-than-life title that Dubai holds. In fact, the country is also home to the world's tallest skyscraper, Burj Khalifa, and the world's largest mall, Dubai Mall. Talk about dreaming big!
